Where was this photo taken?

Photo was taken on the date and the place it was found:  Moran Beach, Whidbey Island WA, Feb 26, 2014

What were your feelings or impressions?

When I first noticed this piece of glass, my immediate reaction was "My Goodness!! That's HUGE! I wonder what it could be from?"

This chunk measured 11 inches long, 2 inches wide and ½ inch thick.

It was perfectly washed from years of tumbling in the surf.

After a bit of research we found it to be a steam boiler gauge glass, most likely used by the US Navy at one time.

Amazing beach find
by: David and Lin

Wow, Carla, we still can't get over this amazing sea glass find.

I believe it should have won the contest if the contest had gone on longer than a month.

You should enter this in one of the sea glass festivals whenever you get the change.

Love from us
