Beach Pottery from Hatteras

Beach Pottery from Hatteras

By: Brenda in Roanoke, VA

We found this very large pottery shard on Hatteras some time ago.

It is perfectly flat and fairly thick.

From what I can find about similar pieces, I think it is called "salt glazed pottery' but I have no idea what kind of object it was once part of.

Any information would be greatly appreciated.
