City nearest to that beach. Wantagh, New York, USA
Colors found: Lavendar, gray, green, brown, white, dark blue, an occassional piece of ceramic tile or dinnerware.
Have found many sharp pieces as well as rounded and frosted.
Sometimes there are no pieces of glass or whole shells depending on the roughness of the sea and the weather. no dogs allowed.

The beach has just been allowed to open to swimmers this year so going at night or early morning before the sand is trampled is best.
I have found every color there except Yellow even old bottles from the 1700s.

glass report for Islip Beach submitted by Stephanie in East Islip, NY, USA Tons of beach glass, mostly brown, some green and some white. Sometimes not tumbled enough so the edges are sharp.
Fair in terms of jewelry grade, but you can find at least 10 pieces an hour.
Beach is very small, but nice. $5 to get in if you aren't a resident with a pass. Snack bar, covered pavilion for parties (has to be booked in advance), bathrooms, lifeguards.
