Mushrooms in the forest

Mushrooms in the forest

I enjoy going for walks with my husband and collecting sea glass. It is the most pleasant and relaxing activity.

Our favorite beach is located at Barwon Heads in Victoria Australia. We have also visited a small glass beach in Robe,South Australia.

We mostly find green, brown and white glass but occasionally we also find treasured blue and grey-purple peaces.

I have made some jewellery and mosaics. I have to design them with the available color scheme in mind.

My "Mushroom in the forest" mosaic reminds me of my childhood.

I have painted a large round wood panel (about 50cm in diameter) with white gesso paint and did rough pencil scetch on top.

I then started arranging the glass on my panel first.

I glued the sea glass with a clear mosaic glue.

I have used some acrylic paint underneath the white sea glass to highlight the forest trees in the background.

A gloss varnish on top made the sea glass glisten.

I also made some other mosaic with a mixture of sea glass and bought glass mosaic peaces.

I hope you enjoy it.

Regards
