Sea Glass report for Fair Harbor, Fire Island, NY

Usually not that much sea glass is found on Fire Island anymore, but maybe this was just a really good summer for it.

I found about 6-8 pieces for each hour walk I took, especially days after storms, which was often this summer!

Here is a photo of the best of two weeks hunting, but I threw back any pieces that had chips or weren't totally smooth.

Trying to upload photo but it won't let me from my phone. Will try from home computer.

Curious…did other Fire Island beach glass hunters have good luck this summer as well?

--- Fair- 1 to 4  pieces of jewelry grade sea glass found per hour.
--- Good - 5 to 9 pieces of jewelry grade sea glass found per hour.

I only keep Jewelry A grade pieces, so I would say about 6-8 per hour, or Good.
