A Sea Glass Sprinkled Picture Frame

~ craft project submitted by Toshi Kanno

For a long time I didn't know what to do with all my collection of sea glass in a jar.

One day I decided to try gluing them onto the glass picture frame I had.

First, I tried to cover the frame with as many sea glass as possible without glue but it didn't look nice.

Next I tried placing pieces apart a little from each other. It looked much better this time.

I painted the back side of the frame with light blue to get a contrast of the green color of sea glass, then I glued all the small pieces of sea glass.

It took a few tries, but I finally glued them onto the frame.

I just needed some color contrast on the frame.

Some people might like to cover entire frame with sea glass but I thought the way I did was OK!

What do you think?

Beautiful!

The frame is lovely and so is your wedding photo!

I'd like to make a frame too, but think I might try to use some sort of grout to get the pieces of glass to lay flush with each other.

But maybe that would take away from each piece's individuality.

It's Tacky Glue !
by: Toshi

Thank you Mona!

I'm glad to hear that you like it.

For this one I used Tacky Glue. It worked fine. I tried some other glues but most of them stays messy, so I had to scrap off again and again and finally came out clean with Tacky glue.

Thanks
Toshi

I think your picture frame looks great! What type of glue do you use?
