Japanese Fishing Floats - 2nd, 3rd, and 4th Floats!
~ sea glass contest photo was submitted by Harley in Port Angeles, WA
Where was this photo taken?
Pacific Coast, Washington State... near Lake Ozette
We were the first ones on the beach Mother's Day morning and all three floats were found in the "regular" tide line from earlier that morning.
They were spread out over a mile or so.
The two larger ones, which are only 4 inches or so, were laying right on top of the seaweed that washed up, and the little guy, that's about 2 inches, was kind of wrapped up in seaweed but I found him!
Weird stainless wire wrapped on the little one.
The greenest one in the front of the picture has a distinct Japanese marking on the seal. I need to look it up.
Must have been a storm at sea or something that caused them to wash up like the ones I found.
This was my mom & my 6th annual Mother's Day.
This time we let the boys (my dad and my boyfriend) join us.. maybe they brought us luck!
We also brought back some other beach goodies... rubber & plastic floats and 400 feet of anchor rope.
Date, time of day, and weather conditions?
Mother's Day 2014. Very sunny!
What were your feelings or impressions when taking this photo?
Couldn't believe I found THREE of these precious floats.
No footprints on the beach... pure heaven!
What kind of camera and/or lens did you use?
Cell phone
