Hi,
How are things going there? Hopefully you aren't among the millions getting hit with COLD weather or even worse, stressed by the fires in California.
Lin and I are back in Huanchaco Beach, Peru (South America) after visiting Lin's mother in Prince Frederick, Maryland and our daughter and son-in-law not far from there. We flew out of Washington D.C. just before the cold wave was supposed to hit and were able to miss the snow and all the traffic mess that that usually causes :) We are fortunate for the present to have very pleasant conditions here with temps in the low 70's F. The big news is that our small coastal town will be getting a visit from the pope. A comment on TripAdvisor states, "The Trujillo mass, where at least 500,000 to 1 million people are expected, is held on January 20, 2018 at an area of 12 ha (about 30 acres) in Huanchaquito (district of Huanchaco) next to the infrastructure built for the Bolivarian Games Huanchaco 2013." This is just a few blocks from our home. It is really a crazy thing. That many people will not fit on our beach. Town and transportaion will be closed down for weeks. We are trying to dig up some cash to be able to go stay somewhere else for those weeks. A reminder to all. This is the last month for the Sea Glass Photo Contest. Do to time constraints we won't be running the contest in 2018. However... YOU can still upload your photos - in fact we encourage you to send in more photos than ever - go to our page Photo Forums and choose the appropriate category.
Here's what we have in this newsletter.

This piece is glass and the middle rounded...I can only think it might have been a bottle topper, but a very odd piece, indeed.

Found this on my local beach Whitburn UK. It is not like any other glass I have found. It looks faceted deliberately and not worn down but was on the
I noticed that most peoples' sea glass is more vivid than mine and was told that some people rub their pieces with mineral oil to help bring out the color.
