Hi,
Treasures Are Being Found!
Yep, this summer has been one of the better ones for many of us, especially as we become better at:
1) Actually seeing (finding) the sea or beach glass because of more trained eyes and
2) Having a better idea of where to go, not only from reports such as the new areas listed in the following comments, but also knowing more about what beaches should be good for sea glass.
Of course most of the areas we all go to have less storms during the summer...and less waves and currents usually mean less newly uncovered sea glass. But how much that actually affects the amount found is hard to evaluate.
Where we are in N. Peru, for example, with no storms and no big waves during these months, it is incredible how many tons of sand have moved over the bedrock. That is bad for us, but I imagine in other areas the same type of thing could be happening to uncover the bedrock (better for finding the glass) and moving the sand somewhere else in spite of little wave or storm action.
Scroll down to see what others have been finding - it could be at a beach near you that you never thought of checking out!
Here is a little reminder to check out the upload features on the fun page, where you can contribute your comments, questions, and photos on what you find at the beach or just about anything to do with beach glass.
We invite any of you to share a short story of your beach impressions (funny, sad, or exciting) and get a link to the website or blog of your choice.
