your Odyssey Sea Glass News, Issue #025 -- ~It's Been A Long...
December 28, 2009
Hello All,

Lin_and_David
Good day to all!  It has been  awhile since our newsletter was sent out, and if you're wondering why, you'll probably remember that Lin and I had planned to move to Norhern Peru. Well, we have done it and here we are in Los Organos, in the province of Piura, here in Peru.  Although the beaches in this area are beautiful and have interesting shells, etc, we have not found much sea glass yet. According to our local friends, they have found sea glass when the sand is washed away and exposes the underlying reef. Since we are going into the  season for north swells and bigger waves, we look forward to not only surfing but looking for sea glass, or beach glass if you will, along the shore here.

If you are a surfer, check out YouTube for Cabo Blanco, which is about 30 minutes from here.  It is a world class surfing spot. Our local reefs are quite good, too, so I am looking for a board for myself. At 62 years old, I think I'm still young enough, don't you? I mean, I surfed most of my life until 10 years ago, so shouldn't have any trouble getting back into it, right?  Right.

There really is plenty of sea glass here in Peru in the more populated areas. Check the list of blogs below to see the glass we found in a few minutes at one of the many beaches in Lima, Peru. As the opportunity arises, we will be traveling to more beaches and reporting on them.

Of course, we rely 99% on you folks to send in your on-the-spot reports from all over the world, so keep on sending them in. Crafts photos, too!

A big "hola" to all of you visitors around the globe (81 coutries in the past month) and, at this time, special "saludos" (greetings) to our viewers in Peru (buenos dias), Virgin Islands (Good day), and Indonesia (selamat). ---------------------------------------------------------------------------

Here is a little reminder to check out the upload features on "Catch of the Day,", where you can contribute your photos on what you find at the beach today (tonight, tomorrow, whatever). It works so smooooooth.

If you have more than one photo you would like to share, feel free to send us an email by clicking on the pic of us above.

For this week, we would invite any of you to share a short story of your beach impressions (funny, sad, or exciting) and get a link to the website or blog of your choice.

Dec 14, 2009, Update on our move to the beach, Peru

Hi all. We have been so busy that I haven't gotten a newsletter out in a couple of weeks, and probably won't get to it for another few days.

However, Lin and I are enjoying our stay with friends while looking for a house to rent here in Los Organos, Peru.

The beach is beautiful, although we haven't found much as far as beach glass.

For you surfers, the waves are going off today with a new north swell, waves about 6 feet here and much bigger at Cabo Blanco, about 25 minutes from here.

More later, David and Lin Schneider
