your Odyssey Sea Glass News, Issue #015 -- The Heat is On...and On... August 03, 2009 |
||
Hello All, Wow! Last week, the all-time heat record got busted here in Washington State, 102 degrees Fahrenheit in Seattle. Lin and I have been really enjoying it...well, I must say enjoying the days in the 80s. The 90s and up are too hot no matter where you live. Now, today, it was supposed to start cooling and get down to the "normal" over the next few days, which is in the low 60s. However, it pumped back up today to close to 90. Well, I know the folks here are just not used to it. And some of you readers live where it is much colder in the summer...or much warmer. We usually try to get this newsletter out on Wednesdays, although that's not a fixed date, as this is an "occasional" not a "weekly" newsletter. But being a lazy, hazy, crazy summer here, I didn't get it off to you this week on time. No matter, there is plenty here to browse through, mainly some good submissions from you readers with additional information and questions. Enjoy!
Here is a little reminder to check out the upload feature on "Catch of the Day", where you can contribute your photos on what you find today at the beach. And we look forward to seeing your beach reports, crafts stories, and photos on "Your FUN Page". For those of you who have just recently signed up, this newsletter is an update on the new features and changes in the last couple of weeks.
If you have been reading the RSS/Blog, you will already have seen some of these new items... But take a look at the updates below and see if you missed something important. If you would like to receive the RSS/Blog, click on that "orange button" in the upper left hand corner of the toolbar on each page of Odyssey Sea Glass to subscribe. How do you ever find what your looking for on this site? With over 220 pages of photos and info, it is impossible to remember where you saw what! Believe me, I know! I have used the search box at least 3 times today to find information I know is in there, and I WROTE THE DANG PAGES! So be SURE to make full use of the search box with the link below. BOOKMARK the searchbox page. It works GREAT and has gotten a lot better at finding specific words and phrases. This is a probably (at least to me) the most important page on the site...but then again, my memory is shot ;-). Anyway, I hope you find the search feature as helpful as I do!
