Sea glass beach report for

Praia Castelo and Praia Cohelo beaches

in Albufeira, Portugal (Algarve Region)

Praia means "beach" in Portuguese.

These beaches are up against rocks.

During low tide, small caves are exposed, and up against the rocks there are lots of nice pieces of glass.

I found my biggest pieces there, and some turquoise/aquamarine."

Algarve sea glass
by: Anonymous

Visited just about every beach from Lagoa down to Tavira - no seaglass at all. The beaches are fine sand, not enough pebbles and probably kept clean for tourism. That bring said finally found a beach with sea glass - Praia de Faro, just behind the airport. Good long beach with plenty of shells, pebbles and enough wave action. Picked up about 20 pieces in an hour, small mostly green but still beautiful sea glass

Not a single piece
by: Anonymous

We went there at low tide, and while there are plenty of shells, there was no glass whatever. Not a single piece.
