Timeless Sea Glass

Adie Jorquera, Owner/Artist - Port Townsend

My names is Adie and I am so lucky that I live in Port Townsend Washington, where I am only literally two minutes away from one of the most beautiful and rocky beaches on the Olympic Peninsula.

Being so close to the beach affords me the opportunity to walk on the beach every single day.

Sometimes I have to pinch myself

The Beach and Sea Glass - Port Townsend, Washington

Finding Sea Glass on this beach is not really difficult, but to find the pieces that I like to create my one of a kind jewelry, I have to walk between six to eight miles a day.

It is a stunning walk and very relaxing walk that puts me in a creative trance.

Usually it overcast and sometimes it is raining depending on when I set out for my walk.

The hike is not for the faint of heart but if you do make it all the way to "Glass Beach" it is an experience a nature lover will never forget.

On many of my walks my daughter and I have encountered bald eagles, deer, Giant Blue Herons, and many other types of birds.

The tide pools abound with sea stars, crabs, fish, jelly fish, and all sorts of other amazing creatures.

Being exposed to all those amazing colors really inspires me to create my genuine sea glass creations.

My Sea Glass Jewelry - Port Townsend, Washington

I have created many pendant and earrings and sell it locally here on the Olympic Peninsula at several locations.

One of the main reasons that I started creating Sea Glass jewelry is that is so unique; a set of earrings and pendant is a one of a kind creation.

My imagination really takes flight when I start to wonder how these amazing purple, yellow, red, orange, pink and all the other amazing colors of sea glass came to be.

Did these beautiful pieces of glass adorn a person's home or was it from an exquisite perfume bottle they treasured for many years?

On my sea glass adventures I have been very fortunate to find amazing marbles, again my mind wonders to places of long ago where children played with these amazing vintage marbles.

Timeless Sea Glass - a Port Townsend, Washington Local Business

Creating one of kind sea glass jewelry has become my passion.

In the past few months I have had customers call me and specifically ask me to create a set of earrings and pendants in a specific color and that has been such fun that I have decided to continue doing it indefinitely.

I am including pictures of my work.

Sea glass with words
by: Rachel

I love all the colors, textures, and odd shapes, but what about pieces with words on them?

Are they hard to find?
